ADA Policy
Where should I enter?
If you have any accessibility requirements or restrictions, please visit the Accessibility Services Desk at the main entrance. The Accessibility Services Desk is a dedicated space for those requiring special assistance or mobility requirements.
Who should have a Medical Sticker?
Steel City Con provides Medical Stickers to individuals with accessibility needs.
This sticker identifies you to staff, crew, and security and indicates that you may need additional assistance.
How do I get a Medical Sticker?
Please go to the Accessibility Services Desk at the show; one of our staff will be happy to help.
Please note that the Medical Sticker does not provide admission; you must have a valid ticket. The Medical Sticker does not provide early access to the show nor guarantees seating or priority access to any areas of the show.
Is there accessible seating in the event room?
We provide accessible seating as available. Please be aware that all seating for Panels and Screenings is on a first-come, first-served basis, and we cannot guarantee seating for everyone. Fans who require accessible seating should plan to arrive at a Panel at least 15 minutes before the event. Please remember that all our events are very popular, and seating may be unavailable if you wait until the last minute to get to the room. Please read your program, plan your day accordingly, and leave additional time for lines.
What about Autographing and Photo Ops?
Unfortunately, we cannot allow priority access to signings or photo ops at the convention. Guests often sign for a limited time, and to be fair to all attendees, we cannot allow a fan to bypass any autographing lines – unless you have a VIP Pass.
We recommend having someone within your group wait in line for you. When your spot reaches the front of the line, you may re-join for your signing. Portable stools are also recommended.
What about companion passes?
All PCAs (Personal Care Aides) provide personal care, such as help with bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, toileting, and moving. (This type of support is also called hands-on care.) are required to have their ticket to the event.
They can purchase any ticket type that will get them entry to the event and still have the same access as the person they are assisting, even if it is a VIP. They need an entry wristband for that day.
*Friends of the person attending are not considered caregivers and do not fall under this category. *
Medical companions are required to stay with and assist the patron with disabilities. The medical companion is not entitled to merchandise, “line-jumps,” or exclusive benefits.
Is the Convention Center fully accessible? Is there accessible parking available on-site?
The Convention Center is fully accessible. There will be on-site accessibility parking on a first-come, first-served basis.
Is there anywhere I can rent a wheelchair, walker, or cane?
The MCC has limited wheelchairs available at no cost on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Are service animals permitted inside the show?
Guide dogs and service animals are welcome at our shows, provided they are leashed or under similar control as appropriate.
Attendees with service animals on-site at the event assume complete responsibility for their animals during their time at the event. Emotional support animals ARE NOT considered service animals.
